TBD – How Fear and Hope are (Re)shaping Political and Biophysical Landscapes on the Northern Great Plains

On the plains of central and eastern Montana, cattle ranching has shaped rural landscapes, communities, and ways of life for generations. Today, however, ranching economics, ambitious conservation projects, a flood of outside money, and shifting demographics are contributing to growing anxieties among ranchers and rural communities about existential threats to their livelihoods, ways of life, communities, and futures. Join us for this episode to explore how these actors and others perceive these changes, and how emotions – in this case, fear and hope – inform their (re)actions in ways that are (re)shaping social, political, economic, and biophysical landscapes in the region.
