Global Landscape Stewards is an initiative dedicated to weaving a diverse network of stewardship practitioners worldwide.
Through the candid and generous sharing of triumphs and setbacks, our exchanges serve to accelerate the pace and amplify the impact of this vital work, globally and locally.
Australia Exchange
In 2022, the Global Landscape Stewards team travelled from the western U.S. to engage peers across eastern Australia for a wide-ranging exploration of the common realities and distinct differences that shape landscape stewardship efforts in both areas. For three weeks, the team held in-person meetings and conversations with a wide array of groups and stakeholders, distilling recurring themes and salient insights into the report available below.

New in 2026
We are pleased to announce that GLS is joining the International Lands Conservation Network (ILCN) as its first working group! This forum for action will help us realize our broader vision for peer exchange, and will play a critical role in shaping future programming based on emerging topics, issues, needs, and opportunities in the field. By aligning and integrating with ILCN, we look forward to strengthening our connections and developing exchanges with stewardship practitioners and policymakers around the globe.

Currently, we are exploring opportunities for future stewardship exchanges. This includes making connections in particular regions, identifying virtual and place-based program exchange opportunities, and focusing themes/topics to help define the scope of the exchanges.
