Waterloo: JLW CISMA & DNR Spotted Knapweed Workday

Join us as the DNR and JLW CISMA (Jackson, Lenawee and Washtenaw Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area) work to protect native habitat in Waterloo Recreation Area, the largest state park in the Lower Peninsula. We will be stewarding remnant black oak barrens and prairie by hand by pulling invasive spotted knapweed.

Where: Meet at the parking lot on Waterloo Road just west of M-52.

What to Wear and Bring: Please dress for outdoor work, wearing long pants, long-sleeve shirt, work boots, and sun protection. Bring layers to dress for the weather. Bring water, a snack, and any medication you might need. To prevent the spread of invasive species, ensure all gear is free of mud and seeds. Work gloves, eye protection, and hand tools are provided.
