Oakland County Parks is hosting its annual Native Plant Sale from 4-7 p.m. Friday, June 5 at the Oakland County Farmers Market, but you’ll need to register now in order to secure your plants.
This year, participants will receive a tray they can fill it by selecting plants of their choice from the assortment available. Online registration is now open and interested persons are encouraged to preregister to ensure there will be enough trays and plants available. There is a $5 entry fee. Registration the day of the event will also be available.
Naive plants are an excellent choice for any yard or garden because they require less water and maintenance, attract pollinators like bees and butterflies, and take less effort to grow since they naturally thrive in local conditions.
Oakland County Parks staff will be available to answer questions and help participants select the best plants for their space that will achieve their gardening goals. Whether an experienced gardener or just getting started, there is something for everyone.
