Celebrate the coming of fall with the Grand-Raisin Conservation Community! This will be an opportunity to connect with fellow stewards and outdoor enthusiasts, to learn about the Grand-Raisin Conservation Community and the work that we do, and participate in a discussion about Walker Tavern and the Oak Savannas of southern Michigan. Light refreshments and snacks will be provided.

- Greeting, introductions, and orientation
- The Stewardship Network / Grand-Raisin Conservation Community introduction
- Welcome by Laurie Perkins, MDNR Site Historian
- Re-inhabiting Michigan’s glacial landscape
- Walker Tavern and Michigan’s westward settlement
- An ecological description and interpretation of Southern Michigan’s historical landscape
- A vision for a Walker Tavern Oak Openings interpretive trail – monarch oaks, sleeping seed banks, and the impacts of fire suppression
- Adjournment, networking, and walk preparation
- Guided Home Walk – Walker Tavern Trail starting at 3pm
