Communicating About Climate Change in Our Classrooms and Communities

October 11 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

This virtual series is designed to help educators communicate effectively about the climate crisis. It features specific strategies and tools to help people navigate climate conversations in classrooms and communities. It also provides support for the planning and fielding of climate actions at a scale that feels right for each attendee.

Session 1 (October 11, 4-6 PM) – Learn why communication about climate change is key, then examine climate communication tools and strategies for use with and by your students.

Session 2 (November 1, 4-6 PM) – Explore examples of communication strategies in climate action projects, then learn about a planning process for a place-based project.

Session 3 (December 6, 4-6 PM) – Refine a strategy, tool, or project idea by interacting with peers for feedback and support.

Session 4 (May 9, 4-6 PM) – Celebrate the work on climate change that teachers and their students accomplished during the 2022-23 school year, then explore the virtual gallery.
